Los apartamentos I.S. están ubicados en la zona central de la Ciudad de Azogues, junto al Mercado Sucre. El proyecto está compuesto por dos edificios independientes pero adyacentes, que ocupan una superficie total de 1060 m2 de construcción, en un frente hacia la vía de 18,60 m.

 

Como punto de partida el proyecto intenta cerrarse, materialmente, al frente donde se encuentra la vía principal para mimetizar el impacto acústico surgido por el multitudinario uso de esta zona comercial; y abrirse, materialmente, a la parte posterior para apreciar el cerro Cojitambo, un hito cultural y natural de la ciudad.

 

Para romper la masividad constructiva apreciada desde la vía principal, surgida por su tamaño y materialidad, el proyecto busca componer las fachadas de ambos edificios con un mismo concepto formal, pero de manera invertida. Así, mientras el un edificio está conformado por espacios "positivos" que salen, el otro está conformado por espacios "negativos" que entran, resultando obtener un atractivo juego de fachadas. 

I.S Apartments are located in the central area of ​​the City of Azogues, near the Sucre Market. The project consists of two separate but adjacent buildings, which occupy a total area of ​​1060 sq2, with a front path of 18.60 m.

 

As a starting point the project intends to close, materially, to the front where there is the main road in order mimic the acoustic impact created from the massive use of this shopping area; and open, materially, to the back to see the Cojitambo hill, a natural and cultural landmark of the city.

 

To break the constructive massiveness appreciated from the main road, because of its size and materiality, the project seeks to compose the facades of both buildings with the same formal concept, but inverted. So, while the one building is made up of "positive" spaces, the other one is made up of "negative" spaces, resulting obtain an attractive set of facades.
